Hospitality isn’t for the faint-hearted. It takes stamina, resilience, determination and the ability to keep going, even when the days are long and the challenges keep coming.
Sounds a bit like climbing mountains too.
That’s exactly what Eleanor, General Manager at the Coach & Horses, is discovering as she took on the incredible National 3 Peaks Challenge back in May.
The challenge sees participants climb the three highest peaks– all within 24 hours.
So far, Eleanor has conquered:
✅ Ben Nevis
✅ Scafell Pike
⛰️ Snowdon
It’s an extraordinary test of both physical and mental endurance, requiring months of preparation, commitment and a willingness to push beyond your comfort zone. Those qualities are something we see every day in hospitality. Whether it’s leading a busy service, supporting a team through a packed weekend, solving problems on the spot or ensuring every guest leaves with a smile, success often comes down to perseverance and a positive attitude.
At Deben Inns, we’re passionate about supporting the wellbeing of our teams, which is why we’re proud of our partnership with Airborne Fit. Together, we’re encouraging our employees to embrace healthy lifestyles, challenge themselves and discover what they’re capable of achieving. Health and wellbeing aren’t just about spending time in the gym or counting steps. They’re about finding balance. It’s about staying active, setting personal goals, looking after your mental health and also taking time to relax and enjoy life. That’s why partnerships like the one between Deben Inns and Airborne Fit work so well. Airborne Fit helps our team members build strength, confidence and fitness, while our pubs provide welcoming places to connect, unwind and celebrate achievements with friends, family and colleagues.
Eleanor’s 3 Peaks Challenge is a fantastic example of what can be achieved with determination, preparation and the right support network around you.
